Hope in Haiti benefit at Barcelona was truly amazing..in large part due to The Anthology and her friends’ hard work. It was astounding to see the many sponsors, companies, and volunteers who came left and right to donate and help out. It was one of those moments where you feel proud to live in Vancouver and be overwhelmed by the overflowing of goodness.
Even though it was a charity night with a good cause, it didn’t mean we weren’t also stressed about what to wear. With last minute investigation of potential wardrobes of the stylish attendees, I just went ’screw it, I’m going to wear this’.
Big thanks to Blo in making me look more presentable. Aside from being hair aficiandos and magicians, I think their side jobs should be councellors and therapists. As part of their work, hair stylists have also been there to listen and sympathize about your daily troubles, stress, and heartaches. Hey, just look at Jessica Simpson and her hair stylist pro bestie.
Barcelona club has come a long way since those Crush days. It’s now a polish and sophisticated room which brought the extra hip factor to the benefit. There was some good dancing and bopping to great music spun by popular the DJ Flipout and DJ Soo.

This guy was purposely in the the line of fire of my camera snapping so he was asking for it. But this goofy fellow had a generous heart and pockets as he outbid to win a getaway package with his girlfriend.
The items that were up for the silent auction, raffles, and live auction (with a really verbal turbo pro auctioneer) were plentiful and awesome. There was a number of getaways, signed Canucks items, jewellery, accessories, services, and a pair fancy DIY shoes by the talented A Haute Mess
Picture a la The Anthology headless shots ;-)
Highlight of the night was the very musically inclined and entertaining, The WZRDZ, who brought the house down (or up)
I was a bit awestruck too in meeting the well known bloggers and stylish peeps of Vancouver like Solo Lisa, A Haute Mess, Mizz J, and ConnieWChang.
Applause and hats off to The Anthology and friends, and especially the people of Vancouver in showing their support and care. Humankind FTW
